Trimley to Felixstowe
A network of field paths, farm tracks and quiet lanes across the isolated northern side of the Felixstowe peninsula, with elevated views out to sea and reedy dykes draining to the tidal Deben; the longest option runs via Falkenham church and creek.
Time: 5h
End-of-walk reward: Café at Felixstowe Ferry; plenty of choice on the Felixstowe seafront and in the town centre.
Warnings: Remote farmland with no facilities for most of the route — carry food and drink, especially water; controlled crossings of the A14.

Felixstowe to Wickham Market

Woodbridge to Felixstowe
A long route with more than half its distance on roads, including a near-three-mile pavement section out of Felixstowe and other mile-plus stretches. Off-road parts cross farmland on gravel tracks. Largely easy-going with no real gradients and but the road walking is tiring in warm weather.
Time: 5h30–10h30
Warnings: After passing under the A14 outside Felixstowe the route across a field is poorly shaped and misleading; follow the A14 direction before turning across the field.
Walk details: Slow Ways.

Harwich Town to Felixstowe
A coastal walk on surfaced paths and promenade and curving round Landguard Fort and through the nature reserve before a long pedestrianised seafront stretch past the pier. Much of the line as drawn from the caravan parks onward is impossible to walk and should be ignored in favour of the prom.
Coastal: four fifths along the coast.
Time: 2h–4h
Warnings: The drawn line from the end of the caravan parks is mostly unwalkable; instead turn onto the unmade track and follow the promenade all the way along.
Walk details: Slow Ways.

Ipswich to Felixstowe
A long route passing under the Orwell Bridge and out towards Levington, then following good public rights of way down to Felixstowe and before being let down by busy roads through the town. A better finish follows the promenade past the pier.
Time: 7h–14h30
Warnings: The route through Felixstowe follows busy roads; a pleasanter alternative uses the promenade and pedestrianised Hamilton Road.
Walk details: Slow Ways.
