Beautiful walks ending at Hinckley Station.

Nuneaton Station to Hinckley Station

A pleasant, fairly direct route on a mix of pavements, farm tracks, towpath and lanes and including a stretch along the Ashby Canal and across wide open fields by the infant River Anker. The towpath and a bridleway between hedges can be very wet and muddy. Follows the Ashby Canal for a stretch. Transport links, shops and stops at either end.

Easy: 9km, gentle ascents.

On the A4254 Eastboro Way, stay on the south side as the north pavement disappears where crossing is awkward. The section east of Attleborough is very wet and muddy.

Lunch stop: the Lime Kilns.

Bedworth Station to Hinckley Station

Starts through residential roads to the Ashby-de-la-Zouch canal, with a mostly level but uneven towpath (grassed-over, narrow and rutted with tree roots) and then quiet road through Burton Hastings and field paths with stiles in varying disrepair. Several fields planted with rape overgrow the path. Follows the Ashby-de-la-Zouch canal towpath for part of the route.

13km. Gentle ascents.

Field paths through rape crops are overgrown and impassable; several stiles in disrepair; a field near Hinckley contained around 15 steers that advanced to block the path; the canal towpath surface is uneven with tree roots.
