Much of the route is on busy roads, some narrow and twisty and without a footpath. It includes a tidal crossing of the River Esk.

Green Road Station to Millom Station

A straight, flat walk along the sea defences with estuarine views, on the England Coast Path.

Low fells, wide salt marshes and the Duddon Estuary sea wall, with Millom Park and its open-air geology museum.
