Ravenglass Station to Millom Station

Much of the route is on busy roads, some narrow and twisty and without a footpath. It includes a tidal crossing of the River Esk.

Tough: 22km. Moderate ascents.

Too much of the route is on busy, narrow roads with no footpath, and the crossing of the River Esk depends on the tides and is hazardous.

Green Road Station to Millom Station

A straight, flat walk along the sea defences with estuarine views, on the England Coast Path.

Easy: 4km, moderate ascents.

Millom Station Circular via Millom Park

Low fells, wide salt marshes and the Duddon Estuary sea wall, with Millom Park and its open-air geology museum.

13km. 4h30.

Highlights: Millom Park (A wooded park above Millom with looping paths, optional viewing points and the open-air Rock Park geology museum).
