Frinton-on-Sea Station to Walton-on-the-Naze Station
picturesque greensward, sparkling sea. A short, easy town-and-seafront walk, starting on paved footpaths along Frinton's wide tree-lined avenues, cutting past a flint-walled church to the bustling High Street, then onto the greensward along the clifftop and down to the promenade. From there it follows the seafront past colourful beach huts to Walton Pier and with the level prom usable at high tide or the sandy beach at low tide. Trains run back to Frinton from Walton-on-the-Naze every hour.
Tough: steep ascents. 3km.
Lunch: Lots of small independent shops and cafes along Connaught Avenue High Street.
