Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich Station to Blackheath Station

The view from the top of the hill by the observatory is stunning. A short, direct but scenic walk on good paths across Greenwich Park and Blackheath and with one steep hill by the Royal Observatory and safe road crossings. Greenwich Park is locked promptly around dusk; check the Royal Parks website. Two sets of accessible public toilets in the park.

Heron Quays Station to Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich Station

Epic views back across the docks to the Docklands towers and across the Thames. A direct, fully pedestrianised waterside route through Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs, crossing under the Thames via the Greenwich Foot Tunnel. Flat throughout and with some uneven paving where tree roots lift slabs; the foot tunnel has long spiral staircases with lift alternatives.

Easy: 3km, gentle ascents.

The Greenwich Foot Tunnel lifts are sometimes out of service, adding a long flight of steps.

Lewisham Station to Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich Station

particularly amazing views across the city from the hills above Greenwich. A short but strenuous walk using Lewisham Hill, Greenwich Park and Blackheath common, with steep climbs and a short steep descent. On the heath there is no pavement, only grass verges and gravel tracks and which can be muddy in wet weather but somehow stay reasonable. Greenwich Park is locked at night; use Crooms Hill instead. The Avenue offers a gentler parallel incline in the park.

Easy: 2km, moderate ascents.

Steep hill, with a short steep descent into Greenwich. No pavement across the heath, only grass verges. Shooters Hill Road is busy; cross at the pelican crossing. Greenwich Park is locked at night.

Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich Station to Woolwich Arsenal Station

A hilly urban walk climbing a high, steep ridge, largely along busy or very busy roads with a few cobbled crossovers. There is a long but gentle climb on the Woolwich side and a moderately steep section through Greenwich Park and plus the unpaved Ha Ha path beside Woolwich Common (a parallel tarmac path exists).

Easy: 6km, moderate ascents.

Mostly along busy or very busy roads. Greenwich Park is unlit and locked promptly at night.
