Sunbury Station to Kingston Station
A flat, direct walk on quiet residential roads, a long B-road stretch, gravel paths through Bushy Park, with occasional Thames views. There is a narrow muddy path by a ditch near Sunbury Court, narrowing pavements along Lower Hampton Road and steps at Sunbury and heavy park gates.
Easy: 9km, flat terrain.
The footpath by Sunbury Court can be muddy and the path by the drainage ditch is narrow; the pavement on Lower Hampton Road narrows and swaps sides repeatedly; there are steps at Sunbury station and a busy zebra crossing near Kingston Bridge. Bushy Park gates are locked overnight.
Lunch: There is a cafe just north of the Diana Fountain and toilets in Bushy Park.
Cafes at the Kingston end in Church Grove and across the bridge.

Ashford Station to Sunbury Station
A direct, flat, functional urban walk almost entirely on pavements, mostly through green residential streets with wide pavements and plus an unpleasant stretch along the busy A308. Suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.
Easy: 5km, flat terrain.
Persistent pavement parking along the residential streets. The section along the A308 is unpleasant. At Sunbury the railway station is reached via an unsigned underpass beneath the roundabout, which can be a maze.
Lunch: Huge variety of shops along the way.
