Tolworth Station to Ewell West Station
a gorgeous walk alongside the Hogsmill River. A lovely, mainly shaded walk along the Hogsmill River through parks and riverbanks, part of the London Loop. A mix of pavement, packed earth and gravel and dirt; the north bank can be very muddy in winter with tree roots. Follows the London Loop along the Hogsmill; look out for dragonflies, kingfishers and herons.
Easy: 4km, gentle ascents.
The southern/north-bank sections beside the Hogsmill can be very muddy in winter. Bourne Hall Park is locked at dusk. Note raised kerbs and fast cars where you cross into Bourne Hall Park at West Ewell.
Lunch stop: Bourne Hall café.

Tolworth Station to Motspur Park Station
A direct, straightforward route, mostly roadside walking through surprisingly green suburbs with pleasant residential streets, wide pavements often offset from quiet roads by lawns and trees, small parklet greens. A short green section by the Hogsmill river; step-free with underpass ramps and so good for wheelchairs. The River Hogsmill crossing offers a chance to divert onto a nature trail. Passes Malden Manor station mid-route. Motspur Park station and the Tolworth roundabout underpass were undergoing access works.
4km.
Lunch: A Co-op food store and refreshments at Malden Manor mid-route.

Kingston Station to Tolworth Station
A lovely green route with a lot of off-road walking through woodland and parks, following the Hogsmill river and Thames Down Link and with some potentially muddy sections. Very quiet underfoot. Follows the Thames Down Link and passes through the Hogsmill Nature Reserve. At Maldon Way the route leaves the river to cross the road via a subway about 100m up the road.
Easy: 8km, gentle ascents.
The section along the narrow, busy Old Malden Lane has no pavements; following the London Loop diversion via Grafton Road avoids it.
