Newhaven Circular via Seven Sisters Country Park
Final stage of the Vanguard Way over the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs from Seven Sisters Country Park via Seaford to Newhaven.

Newhaven to Brighton

Lewes to Newhaven
The stretch along the river is spectacular; the views of the South Downs are fantastic. A lovely, mostly flat route through the Ouse Valley villages, crossing several arable fields on straight and easily-followed paths before joining the river. The riverside stretch is flat and easy; ease of crossing the fields depends on which crops are growing. Joins the South Downs Way for a short stretch and passes the ruins of Lewes Priory. Passes through Southease, Rodmell and Iford; Rodmell has Monk's House, the National Trust property once home to Virginia Woolf. There is a drinking water tap by Southease church.

Warnings: A short stretch along Newhaven Road has only a narrow pavement then a verge beside fast traffic. The approach into Newhaven is along a big industrial road, though on a wide separated pavement.
