Morley Station to Leeds Station

Great view of Leeds from the top of the rise. A mix of rural and urban with great views towards Leeds: downhill through Morley, residential streets, the last few fields before the city, then past White Rose, along a busy ring road, up to Beeston and a high ridge with a steep grassy drop to a footbridge over the M621, through Holbeck, a final canal- and riverside approach with steps up to the station. Plenty of steps and some uneven and steep footpaths.

Easy: 9km, moderate ascents.

Batley Station to Morley Station

lovely views. A classic up-and-over route, climbing steeply out of the mill town in the valley, including steps and cobbles, to open agricultural land before dropping into Morley. Country and field paths with a wooded section, a golf course and urban streets and a park at the Morley end. Some uneven ground and a steep narrow wooded descent. The Morley meeting point is at a statue of Ernie Wise.

Easy: 5km, moderate ascents.

A steep climb out of Batley with steps and cobbles, plus a tricky narrow wooded descent over uneven ground. A railway crossing (bridge) may close in future. A short stretch of busy road, and a motorway crossing.
