Thurnscoe Station to South Elmsall Station
A route that improves as it goes on: the first part of the footpath beyond the railway bridge north of Thurnscoe is very wet and muddy, but everything beyond Churchfield Road is excellent. Field edges, surfaced tracks and lanes and with a short unsurfaced descent that is a little steep in places. No steps or stiles.
Easy: 6km, moderate ascents.

Goldthorpe Station to Thurnscoe Station
A very short, direct route loosely following the railway and with a track and field paths plus some residential streets. The footpath out of Goldthorpe is overgrown with vegetation and minor obstacles such as low branches and small fallen trees. No steps or stiles.
Easy: 1km, moderate ascents.
Station Road must be crossed where there is no pavement on the south side. The path from Goldthorpe station is overgrown, with branches to duck under.
