Thornliebank Station to Giffnock Station
A short, fairly straightforward urban walk, mainly on pavements but linking with green space at Orchard Park, following a section of the Auldhouse Burn. There is a steep uphill section through a housing estate and an easily-missed path where it drops back to the main road. A more direct route is available via Orchard Park Avenue.
Tough: steep ascents. 2km.

Barrhead Station to Thornliebank Station
An urban route that opens with pavement walking alongside busy roads, then improves markedly into quiet residential streets after the M77 underpass and with a clear path around housing by the Brock Burn and long views approaching Barrhead. Safe pavements throughout the road sections.
Easy: 7km, moderate ascents.
Plenty of options for refreshment at both ends of the walk.

Thornliebank Station to Busby Station
great views of the city and beyond. Opens with green space across Thornliebank Playing Fields and Eastwood Park and then sticks to a busy main road for the second half.
Tough: steep ascents. 5km.

A straightforward urban route hugging the railway line, through residential Pollokshaws and along roads with good pavements. Simple terrain and not especially scenic.
Easy: 5km, moderate ascents.
Mostly alongside busy roads, though pavements are good throughout.
