Map

Set out on beautiful walks that start or end at the centre of Wembley.

Southall Station to Wembley Central Station

A walk of two halves: open and green over golf courses, parks and along the River Brent in the first half, then more industrial and residential. Footpaths along the river and across golf courses can be very wet and muddy after rain and with a few steps and a flight of stairs near the end. Follows the Capital Ring along the River Brent for part of the way. Crosses Perivale Park.

Easy: 10km, gentle ascents.

Golf course and riverside paths can be very wet and muddy after rain; the mapping is sloppy in places, requiring common sense to navigate.

Harrow-on-the-Hill Station to Wembley Central Station

the views from the top are well worth it. A walk in two halves: a long stretch of residential streets and local shopping parades, then a greener section on the Capital Ring and Capital Ring Link through footpaths, playing fields and common land and climbing the hill at Harrow. Some footpaths may be muddy or slippery after rain. Follows the Capital Ring and Capital Ring Link; passes through the playing fields of Harrow School and Lord Byron's favourite view at the top of the hill.

Easy: 6km, moderate ascents.

The footpath alongside Northwick Park Hospital is quite narrow, and the Capital Ring section may be wet or muddy after rain.

Wembley Central Station to Kilburn High Road Station

A varied urban route, roughly half quiet residential streets and the rest parks and local high streets and all paved throughout. One footbridge over the North Circular has ramps as well as steps; some greenery at Brent River Park and Queen's Park. There is a farmers' market at Queen's Park on Sundays.

Easy: 9km, gentle ascents.

Some walking along very busy roads (the A5 in Kilburn, central Harlesden) and a footbridge crossing the A406 North Circular.

Lunch: A park cafe and Sunday farmers' market at Queen's Park, plus busy high streets at Harlesden and Kilburn.

Ealing Broadway Station to Wembley Central Station

A direct urban route mixing quiet leafy paths and residential streets at the Ealing end with busier roads towards Wembley and including a subway under the A40 and a shared cycle path. Some footpaths may be muddy or slippery after rain.

Easy: 5km, moderate ascents.

Hangar Lane is noisy and busy with traffic, and the Western Avenue underpass at the A40 feels neglected.

Lunch: Plenty of shops and restaurants along the lively Ealing Road high street approaching Wembley.
