Beautiful walks starting or ending at Southall Station.

Southall Station to Wembley Central Station

A walk of two halves: open and green over golf courses, parks and along the River Brent in the first half, then more industrial and residential. Footpaths along the river and across golf courses can be very wet and muddy after rain and with a few steps and a flight of stairs near the end. Follows the Capital Ring along the River Brent for part of the way. Crosses Perivale Park.

Easy: 10km, gentle ascents.

Golf course and riverside paths can be very wet and muddy after rain; the mapping is sloppy in places, requiring common sense to navigate.

Southall Station to Ealing Broadway Station

A pleasant, mostly flat route avoiding the Uxbridge Road and through parks and along the Grand Union Canal towpath with residential streets where needed. Towpath tarmac is uneven in places with tree roots; one short flight of steps up from the canal into Elthorne Park. Can be a little muddy after rain. Passes the Hanwell Flight of locks with information boards, including Brunel's Three Bridges where road, rail and canal meet. The canal path and Radbourne Walk may feel less safe after dark.

7km.

There is a short flight of tall steps up from the canal into Elthorne Park.

Lunch: Several pubs near the route, plus shops and places to eat at both ends.

Hayes and [Harlington Station](/train-stations/south-east-england/middlesex/hayes-and-harlington) to Southall Station

A practical, flat and easy route mostly along the Grand Union Canal towpath, with good grit paths and wide pavements through Southall and Hayes. Passes through residential areas, light industry and green spaces; largely uninspiring industrial scenery but easy to follow. Flights of steps to and from the canal at the Hayes end and no lighting along the way. Mainly follows the Grand Union Canal with only one main turn at the canal junction. No lighting along the way. Plenty of nature, blossom and flowers in spring.

4km.
