Kidwelly Station to Llanelli Station (Carmarthenshire)
5m direct from Pembrey and Burry Port.
A walk following the Sustrans cycle route and with a 2.5km section on a quiet single-track country road just outside Kidwelly (passing places and a grass verge for most of it). Path quality improves greatly from Pembrey Country Park onwards; considered a good all-season route. Follows the Sustrans cycle route. Passes Pembrey Country Park.
19km. Moderate ascents.
The single-track country road outside Kidwelly may carry cars and farm traffic.

Llanelli Station to Pontarddulais Station (Carmarthenshire)
5m direct from Pembrey and Burry Port.
a beautiful view of the estuary. A mix of field paths, quiet country roads and housing estates, with several narrow kissing gates and some elevation gains and losses. A long stretch follows a busy main road and with sections of narrow roadside footpath and crossings. Dafen park offers an optional picnic spot.
13km. Moderate ascents.
The A4138 is busy and difficult to cross, and there is a long, unpleasant 3km roadside walk into Dafen on a narrow footpath with constant traffic; staying on the south side is safer. A 700m gap in the main-road footpath is avoided via Llangennech.

Carmarthen Station to Llandeilo Station (Carmarthenshire)
15m direct from Pembrey and Burry Port.
A largely fine route but poorly waymarked throughout, with a section between Llwynfortune Farm and Glancellyn Farm that is blocked and impassable. Many gates are locked and requiring climbing over. An OS map is recommended over the app as the track deviates from footpaths in places.
Tough: 27km, steep ascents.
The section between Llwynfortune Farm and Glancellyn Farm is blocked and impassable, with the landowner forbidding access. Poor waymarking throughout; the route deviates from footpaths so an OS map is advised. Many gates are locked due to a local pylon dispute and must be climbed. Not dog-friendly. Not usable in its current state.

Swansea Station to Port Talbot Parkway Station (Glamorgan)
30m direct from Pembrey and Burry Port.
A flat, functional, fully paved route primarily following National Cycle Network route 4, predominantly alongside main roads and dual carriageways on cycle tracks and with industrial stretches and some pleasant detours. The one climb is up to the bridge at Briton Ferry; the Port Talbot end runs through a landscaped energy park. Mostly follows National Cycle Network route 4; a parallel canal towpath (Tennant Canal) is a quieter alternative for part of the way.
16km. Gentle ascents.
Lunch: A sandwich shop, supermarket and pub/cafe alongside the route at the Bay Campus detour.

Swansea Station to Neath Station (Glamorgan)
30m direct from Pembrey and Burry Port.
Easy and largely flat, with only one unpaved section along the canal between Jersey Marine and Port Tennant. The stretch from Briton Ferry to Jersey Marine is a dull flog alongside the dual carriageway and but the wide shared cyclepath is safe; the approach into Swansea over a suspension bridge is more scenic than the road route. The canal path continues all the way under the road bridge at Giant's Grave; well waymarked and frequently used though not shown as a right of way on OS maps.
14km. Moderate ascents.
